"THE CREW" PROJECT

PREMISE

I met Angelo Dellarovere on a basketball court.

It was 1999, he was an established pivot (a center, the tallest one on the pitch so to speak) and I was a young point guard (the shortest and most intelligent one some would say, lying).

There would be a thousand stories to write before arriving at the La Crew project, but I run until 2020 when my path and that of Angelo find new meeting points, this time through the world of creativity .

PITERBOL

Defeua's values ​​and mission have a lot in common with Angelo's projects and vision and especially with a comic that bears the name of Piterbol .

It is the story of a child named Petre, a small mini-basketball player who tackles important social issues through sport, with the eyes and "cynical simplicity" of a child.

Petre expresses his thoughts verbally but also on paper by drawing his comic, "Piterbol" , which thus magically becomes "the comic within the comic" (an extraordinary reference to the Calvin & Hobbes strips).

I don't want to reveal more to you; Piterbol must be read and lived (you can find some tables on his Instagram profile by clicking HERE ).

However, the unthinkable happens: Defeua becomes part of the comic through a character who for a period was part of the real adventures of our brand: a plush doll nicknamed... Pupazzo .

Pupazzo becomes one of the protagonists of the strips, bringing the world of fashion, brands and influencers into the comic, addressing them with intelligent irony.

A new way of communicating Defeua's key values, namely sustainability and awareness, using an original and extremely engaging medium.

"THE CREW"

After Pupazzo's first appearances within Piterbol, Angelo proposed me to collaborate on new projects.

"The CREW" is born, a branch of the Arenzano Ducks Association, formed by a group of companies, artisans, artists and professionals who share the values ​​of sustainability and social inclusion .

Specifically, CREW is an editorial and social integration project that has the important objective of involving young people of all abilities and social conditions, making them participate in activities preparatory to their introduction into the world of work.

The proposed projects aim to improve the cognitive, emotional and motor aspects of children, their social integration and good psycho-physical health.

Through Defeua we contribute to the development and dissemination of the project and we have taken care of the graphic creation of the products , the proceeds of which serve to support the Crew's initiatives.

THE WORKSHOP

From 14th to 17th March come and visit us at Abilmente Torino!

We will have a stand with our clothes and we will hold a crazy workshop together with Angelo where you can approach the creation of your own comic book character .

The course is suitable for adults and children, because comics, in addition to being a way to express creativity, can also become a tool for communicating your work.

The proceeds from the courses will be used to support the La Crew project.
